Collective learning and public education
Hello friends!
In the last few weeks, I had a lot of exciting conversations around new projects related to knowledge preservation, skill development, personal branding, community design, and much more.
Most of them will probably become more actionable in the next few weeks, so I will share more details to get involved next time.
Recent internal updates
Anya and Sarah are working on a landing page project for Fyde, a project that pivoted recently and needs a refresh of their website.
Cami, Balint, Sarah, Anya, and I met for a strategic session earlier this month (recording here). We decided on a content marketing project to better understand our most responsive audiences and most impactful content.
Content and Public Education Experiment
After the strategic session, Cami and I planned the experiment with different types of content for various audiences. Our goal is to understand what kind of content, distributed over which channels, appeals to which audiences around us the most at the moment.
A unique challenge here is that we are a branded collective of freelancers. In the current social media landscape, sharing content from a brand feels impersonal, and even though I have been the “main face” of Deep Work so far, our content strategy should reflect that the content is co-created and co-owned by individual humans.
If you would like to contribute and help out, let me know your ideas or what you’d like to do, by submitting an application in Deep Teams. Depending on the workload and your experience, we could use funds from our treasury to compensate for it.
Considering that we have validated the quality and need of our work, I will most likely spend a lot of my time this year on learning and creating educational content.
Hang out with us online or IRL
The last few online meetings we had were really fun and valuable. It was really nice to meet new people and learn from you all. For the next few weeks, we are planning the following:
Fireside chat & learning session
This time, I plan to share reading material about skill development, collaboration, or knowledge preservation upfront and discuss it in the session. If you have ideas, feel free to bring them to the session! I will add a link to join the session in our TG group and on this Luma invite.
Strategic session
Last time we had a very productive discussion on our current state and future opportunities. This is more of a core team meeting we will repeat on February 13th. Especially if you’re an Expert who wants to contribute to strategic decisions and allocation of resources, feel free to add it to your calendar here.
Deep Sanctuary in Chiang Mai
Until February 5th, I am living and working from a house in Chiang Mai. Let me know if you’d like to join for deep work, exercise, do yoga, eat healthy food, or just chat about something interesting. DM me and I will send you my daily schedule here. The next two weekends are a great opportunity to join a dinner with friends and there are extra bedrooms.
EthDenver (TBC)
I’m still refining details, but it’s very likely that Rodolfo, Kishore, Sarah, and I will be in Denver this year. I will share more concrete travel plans and events in the next newsletter. You can get your EthDenver ticket here.
I hope you have a great start to the new year and see you next time!
