Decentralising strategic positions

Internal processes have shifted to using the Deep Skills apps. Organization, coordination, payments and scaling are now a lot easier.

What’s currently happening at Deep Work?

• General Updates

  • In an online-native collective, strategic positions (like CEO, CTO, COO etc.) can be decentralized. For example, the role of the CEO at Deep Work is a “Representative“ of a department. You can read the workflow here and apply to get mentored into the role here.

  • We are currently running a DAO Incubator for three teams at Celo. It’s a work-in-progress but you can follow the team in the #dao-incubator channel.

  • If you want to meet up with other Deep Work people at DevCon, join this Telegram group.

• Finance

  • We are moving towards using the Deep Skills web3 app for payments as soon as possible. It is now in use on mainnet.

  • DEEP Tokens are now distributed on a monthly basis.

• Operations

  • All representative roles are now only held by Andrej, who is onboarding everyone who is interested specifically into these roles. You can apply to the role in Deep Skills.

• Consultancy

  • For branding and website projects, we are now offering frontend implementation of websites in Webflow and copywriting. You can see the recent proposal and discussion in the #prospects channel.

  • The outreach team is working on making outreach authentic and representing Deep Work’s tone-of-voice. Consultancy calls are about helping potential clients and sharing knowledge, not about selling services. Follow the conversation or contribute in the #outreach channel.

• Design

  • No activity in the department since the last newsletter, besides ongoing work on our new website.

• Community

  • We decided to stop the bi-weekly online events due to lack of attendees. Real life events seem to gather much broader interest and have higher impact.

• Awareness

  • Working on a new article on practical applications of zero-knowledge proofs. This will also be a trial run for a client project. Take a peek behind the scenes in the #awareness channel.

• Deep Skills

  • We are now actively using the Deep Skills web2 app for internal coordination and started running experiments with other IRL skills. If you’re interested in creating your own little organization, reach out to Andrej.

  • Projects and mainnet payments can now be set up in the Deep Skills web3 app. We have started using it for our DAO incubator.

  • Our team has passed the first stage of a Mintbase grant application. On Wednesday we are pitching the project to the grant committee. For this grant, we plan to issue NEAR NFTs as credentials and support payments on NEAR. You can read the grant proposal here.

  • Bugfixing, feature implementation and manual database updates have started on Deep Skills. Most small issues should be resolved by the end of the month.

Events we are attending:

• DevCon 6 (Bogota, 11.-14.2022)

  • A few people are attending and planning to meet up at DevCon 6. Join the Telegram group to coordinate here.

• Deep Experiences Salon (Berlin, 29.10.2022)

  • Andrej will be hosting a Salon with interactive workshops on fermentation, microgreens, organizational conception and health a cybernetic system. More details will be posted in the next few days in the #deep-experiences channel.

• EthGathering (Barcelona, 18.-20.11.2022)

  • Andrej will be at the conference and currently planning a series of interactive workshops, which will result in the participants creating an organization from scratch. Reach out to Andrej if you’re interested in collaborating.
