What’s currently happening at Deep Work?
Operations
Andrej is currently onboarding the Operations Officer for monthly maintenance of the functions sheet and making adjustments across all platforms.
As a reminder from the last newsletter, Deep Work consists of a range of departments (teams), where people regularly work together (Deep Work Operations, Deep Work Studio, Deep Skills, etc.). Each of the departments produces collaborative projects, which happen on a regular basis.
Each project consists of various functions (tasks), which make up all the work required to complete the project successfully. Here is the original Miro board if you want to dive in.
Notion, GitBook, Typeform, Zapier, and Discord documentation are being updated, so it represents the current state of the organization on a monthly basis.
Prioritizing treasury funds to Software in January to fund the design and development of Deep Skills and Deep Finance applications over a profit share.
Current state
Treasury balance: $43,237
November profits: $0, two active projects, one booked January, gross profits put into P&L forecast.
November expenses: Total of $20,996 out from the treasury (a considerable increase from $2,236 last month because most payments went into this month’s the new financial system and we moved unused funds out of departments last month)
DAO Consultancy
Deep Skills is helping teams and businesses transform into web3-native organizations.
Increasing evidence for the need for “Emergent Organization” mapping workshops. Our experience with the Near Digital Collective went very well.
We are rethinking new effective ways to deliver and visualize the results. Currently, we are working on delivering a spreadsheet and a Miro board, but a public documentation of all work seems to resonate well. Here’s how it could look.

Deep Work Studio


We’re very proud of the progress our friends from Obol are making. Learn more about how to be part of the Distributed Validator Network and stake with less than 32 Eth here.
The scope of work for the Ethereum Foundation is mapped out and the statement of work is sent. Details about the project remain private.
Copywriting/Ghostwriting for branding projects could dramatically improve users’ comprehension of the projects. Web3 projects struggle to bridge the linguistic gap to articulate their value outside the web3 bubble. By including a ghostwriter in the workshops, Deep Work Studio could help teams to elevate mediation from web3 to web2 (or even web5)!
Deep Finance
Department deprecated and will be merged with Deep Skills into the “Software” department.
Progressing toward what Deep Skills is right now, fixing login bugs and user errors, and assigning recurring design tasks to a Product Designer.
Four more sprints for Deep Skills are currently budgeted.
Sprints 7/8 are funded by the treasury. Subject to profits by Bitquery and MakerDAO projects. Follow up on Discord: #web3-engineering
The web3 app will have a few visual tweaks to be separated from the web2 app and include an overview of organizations, departments, and projects. Explore Figma.
Deep Skills (now Software)
Use the web3 app for the broader market, and the web2 app only internally.
Assigning monthly updates of the database to a Database Manager.
Running Deep Work fully on Deep Skills, despite smaller errors.
Focusing on building Deep Skills only for internal use, not clients.
